2005 National Survey on Drug Use and Health: National Findings: "In 2005, 19.7 million (8.1%) used an illicit drug, 71.5 million (29.4%) used a tobacco product, and 126 million (51.8%) Americans aged 12 and older used alcohol currently (that is, in the month prior to the survey). The rate of current marijuana use among youths aged 12 to 17 declined from 7.6% to 6.8% between 2004 and 2005. "
