U.S. Mint Releases 39th Quarter of 50 State Quarters® Program on August 30, 2006: "Two American bison roam the Badlands on the North Dakota quarter-dollar, the fourth coin to be released by the United States Mint in 2006 in the phenomenally popular 50 State Quarters® Program.
The public and media are invited to join United States Mint Acting Director David A. Lebryk and Governor John Hoeven at the launch of the North Dakota quarter at the State Capitol Building Mall in Bismarck at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, August 30. Following the ceremony, the crowd may exchange their paper currency for $10 rolls of newly minted North Dakota quarters. Children 18 years old and younger will receive a free North Dakota quarter."
