DOL Announces up to $5 Million in Grants for Self-Employment Pilots for People with Disabilities: "U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao today announced a grant of $1 million, with an initial release of $550,167, to assist approximately 250 workers affected by the closure of the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company distribution center in North Haven, Conn. This $1 million grant will help the distribution center's workers get the skills training, placement services and assistance they need to secure new jobs,' said Secretary Elaine L. Chao. This investment will help these workers build solid career paths and a better future for themselves and their families"
